Monday September 20th

This is Scarlett and her best friend, Mariah

This is Scarlett being a ham! So glad she has a sense of humor because she's certainly going to need one here!

Because I have to obsess over something (it's in my nature), today it was about Scarlett's well being between the time she is dropped at the orphanage in Fuzhou by Sara from SF and when we receive her later that day. This has really bothered me because I hate the idea of Scarlett feeling like she is being abandoned all over again. I know of several adoptions where the child was in a loving foster home environment and the orphanage has made the family bring the child back weeks before the actual adoption takes place. This is horribly cruel in my opinion. So I worry about my baby. I know SF will do whatever it takes to make sure Scarlett doesn't feel this way. Again, I just have to obsess over something. Tomorrow it could very well be whether I can finally make the decision on which style dining table I want from Pottery Barn.

So while obsessing this evening, I was told by a Facebook friend (who is picking up her daughter at the end of October) that they are being allowed to pick up from SF and travel down to the orphanage with the child. How amazing is that??? For the child to be able to see her forever family in a comfortable and safe environment before having to leave with them. For the child to be able to watch her family interact with her playmates and ayis and see how loving they are ahead of time... Makes my heart sing!

Prayers that our orphanage will feel the same way when our time comes. I would love to be able to spend a week at SF, loving on the children there and having Scarlett become comfortable with us.

In different news....
Our dossier should be picked up from the Washington, DC Chinese Consulate tomorrow and overnighted to XC in California. From there she will look it all over, I'll probably have to send her something that we forgot, and then it will fly off to China.

Will we be logged in (LID) by October 1? Stay tuned...
